"Former "American Idol" contender Paris Bennett has given birth to her first child.

The 19-year-old -- who competed in the fifth season of the TV singing competition -- gave birth to a girl, named Egypt, on Monday.

Bennett tells People.com, "I'm so excited to finally see my little angel, and man, does she have lungs on her.

"I guess she's gearing up to be the next 'American Idol.'"

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - David Archuleta, the cutie-pie runner-up from last season's "American Idol" has signed with Azoff Management. That could be good news for the singer's career, as Azoff has launched several careers including The Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Neil Diamond and Morrissey.

Celebrity News Service was pleased to learn that Archuleta's career will be in capable hands. Azoff's Jared Paul will be managing Archuleta, and he also steers the careers of Nick Lachey and New Kids on the Block.

Archuleta's dad, Jeff, has reportedly been a difficult stage dad but will now co-manage his son's career. Hopefully with the new management Archuleta's career will take off, just like his first song "Crush" has.

19 Entertainment gets first dibs on "Idol" finalists for management, but the company apparently passed on Archuleta -- no word on why that happened. They did sign last year's "Idol" winner David Cook.

Archuleta does remain on the 19 Recordings roster, and the company is reportedly intimately involved in overseeing his first album, which is due out November 11. (Cook's debut drops a week later.)

Celebrity News Service is hoping for good things for young David, because as "Idol" judge Paula Abdul said, he is so cute we just want to pinch his head off and hang it from our rearview mirror. Well, let's not go that far -- but we do think the kid can sing.

Modeling is not an easy career path. Elena Abete is just one girl who proves that. She was Daniel's model on this season of Project Runway and got the boot along with him. She reveals in the Austin American Statesman she got no pay for doing Runway for which she worked ten-hour days. And that time hardly involves hanging out with the designers. "The only time we got with them is in the work room," she tells the Statesmen. "The producers kept us very separated."

Abete had given up on New York and moved home to Austin, Texas, after a falling-out with her agency. She returned when she got called to do Runway but is now back in Austin, where she works as a hostess at a local Tex-Mex joint. Though she was doing okay as a model and appears in September's Cosmo Girl, she says didn't like New York or modeling:

In what I believe is the ultimate irony in the entertainment industry, West Coast television viewers routinely, except for the Oscars, see award events three hours after they air live. Although this has been occurring for years the use of interactive programming is changing the playing field....for the worse.

In tonight's "live" 50th Anniversary Grammy event viewers were asked to vote to select one of three classical musicians to play later on in the evening with the Foo Fighters. Unfortunately, West Coast viewers were informed with an on-screen message that "voting is closed" because what they were watching was pre-recorded. Nothing says "you're unimportant" than being told you don't have a vote because you live closer to the Pacific than the Atlantic.

As all traditional media tries to find ways to incorporate new technology and the internet into their programming to reach younger audiences, viewer involved activities that determine the course of a show are becoming more and more popular. American Idol thrives on viewer participation. However, because the show counts votes from all over the country before announcing a decision on a following night, all who wish to participate can.

The exclusion of West Coast viewers tonight should galvanize the left coast into demanding that all networks that air award shows show them live in all time zones. Or a possible alternative option for viewers who subscribe to DirecTV and other cable-like services would be to be allowed to access East Coast feeds during these events. I have been told the reason this doesn't happen is that advertisers who pay to reach West Coast viewers would object to this fact. (It's always about money, isn't it?)

I think it is time for a change as many politicians are espousing.....stop discriminating against West Coast viewers and show us some love!--that's what John Lennon would have wanted.

"The battle between Apple and iPhone and iPod Touch owners who like to modify their devices in ways Apple never intended is getting hotter. A hacker claims to have cracked Apple's latest firmware update v1.1.2 for the iPod Touch in advance of Apple pushing the firmware update to iPod Touch owners.

According to Engadget, which forced a firmware update on an iPhone, the v1.1.2 firmware disables unauthorized Apple customization of iPhones that people created using the popular Jailbreak installer program. The iPhone firmware update adds language support to the iPhone and also adds minor features and some fixes, according to Engadget. Similarly the iPod Touch v1.1.2 firmware is expected to reverse unsanctioned Apple modifications as well."

"Former "American Idol" contestant Corey Clark pleaded guilty to a felony harassment charge stemming from phone calls he placed to his father-in-law, and prosecutors agreed to a deal allowing him to be placed on probation, court documents show.

The crime Clark admitted to during a hearing in Yuma County Superior Court this month carries a term of as many as 2 years in prison and a $150,000 fine, according to the plea agreement.

In exchange for entering a guilty plea Oct. 2 to one felony charge of aggravated harassment involving domestic violence, Clark had four other charges dismissed, said Roger Nelson, a Yuma County prosecutor.

A sentencing date has not been set. Clark's attorney, Richard Geller, declined to comment.

Authorities said Clark violated a court order in August 2006 by placing several calls to his father-in-law. He had been charged with counts of failure to comply with the order.

Clark's wife, Monica Rodriguez Gonzalez, filed for a domestic violence protective order in June 2006, claiming that Clark had abused her. The order prohibited Clark from having any contact with her and eight other people, including their child."
